Failure is Power: Stories of Setbacks, Doubt & Moving Forward
A conversation for young professionals and emerging leaders
Date: 24 April 2026, 9:00am - 11:30am
Location: INSET by MAP Hotel, Nicosia
Careers rarely follow a straight line – but we rarely talk about the messy parts.
This event brings together three speakers to share honest stories of career setbacks and difficult moments, and to explore how these experiences shape the way we show up as professionals and leaders.
What is this about
Failure is Power is a 3‑event series by Elli & Co and The Compass Training that explores how failure can become a tool for learning, growth and more human workplaces. After our first event on psychological safety and cultures that learn from mistakes, the second event moves the conversation to the personal level.
On 24 April 2026 in Nicosia, we invite you to an honest, story‑led session on career setbacks and how we recover from them.
We’ll talk about:
Jobs and roles that didn’t work out.
Wrong turns and “bad” decisions.
Burnout, rejection, layoffs and startup struggles.
The moments that challenge our identity, confidence and sense of direction.

Who this is for
This event is designed for:
Young professionals who are building their careers and navigating uncertainty.
Emerging managers and team leaders who want to lead with more honesty and psychological safety.
Young founders and entrepreneurs who are familiar with risk, doubt and change.
Companies may find it especially useful to invite talent and young leaders who are ready to grow not only in skills, but in how they relate to themselves and others when things go wrong.
Join the event to:
Feel less alone with your own “mistakes”, doubts and difficult experiences.
Gain perspective on how others have navigated setbacks and what they chose to do next.
Reflect on how you want to show up as a professional and leader when things don’t go to plan.
Leave with at least one small idea or step for how to move forward differently – for yourself or for someone you support.
